A new collection of word search puzzles!

There's a big demand for word puzzles search and find, and as the writer for Spelling-Words-Well, I'm listening to you!  I'll be adding more and more printable word search puzzles for challenging fun and learning!

This page serves as a directory to all the word searches across this site. At the top are all the NEW pages. Some existing ones are seen further down the page. I've also pulled in a few of my favorites from my puzzle website, www.word-game-world.com.

NEW! Compound Free and Printable Word Search - Students will put picture pairs together to form twenty compound words. For instance, a COW plus a BELL equals COWBELL. Some of the words aren't quite so obvious. Once students have formed all twenty compounds, they will need to locate each  word in the word search puzzle diagram. Double the puzzles, double the learning, double the fun!

NEW! Seek-a-Word Puzzles Free for Classroom Fun! This fun-filled shape holds 25 nouns from my list of third grade spelling words. How quickly can your active students find them all? This page works well at home, and with second and fourth graders, too!

NEW! Fourth Grade Find-a-Word Puzzles  Twenty-four words from my list of fourth grade spelling words are hidden in this 4-shaped puzzle. I chose words with silent letters. The directions on the printable page direct students to check off words as they find them, and to underline the silent letters. Learning is combined with FUN, as usual. 

NEW! Vicious Vowels Search and Find Word Puzzles  You'll be searching for 45 words from my sixth grade spelling list. Words have tricky vowel dilemmas, such as familiar, separately, vacuum and 42 more words. There are built-in practice activities for maximum impact!

NEW! Double Take! Word Search Printable Puzzles  This exceptional word search offers double the fun, and double the learning! First, you must finish spelling the words on the word list by choosing the correct set of missing double consonants for all the words. (It might be trickier than it sounds to complete all 42 words!) Then you can locate those words in the puzzle--if you finished the words the same way I did! Actually, it's quite feasible to do so by following the directions. So take up the challenge, and know that directions and ANSWERS are included in the printable version!

Free Spelling Worksheet/Word Search - Here's a great word search using fifth grade spelling words! The word list contains 50 words, but only 30 of them are spelled correctly! You'll find only the correctly spelled words in the fun word search puzzle. It's great for anyone in about grade 3 and up. 

Printable spelling worksheets Eight is  great, if you can spell it! How many times is it spelled correctly in this unique word search puzzler? I've created similar puzzles to provide students fun practice in spotting correct spellings of other troublesome commonly used words: friend, because and said

Back-to-School Worksheets! Set of three fun and timely pages includes word puzzles search and find, a cryptogram, and find-the-mistakes! On this word search, you need to supply the missing vowel pair, then locate each completed word in the puzzles. All aboard the school bus!

Double Letter Animal Word Search:  Here's another fun puzzle featuring double consonants. Supply the missing pair of letters, then find each of the 40 animal names in the word search puzzle. Hint: One answer is ALLIGATOR! Fun spelling practice for any age!

First Grade Spelling - Easy word search puzzle! The word list contains ten words with long vowel sounds and extra built-in activities. Great to complete as a class or with your child. Why not make another one together using graph paper?

Word search worksheets can provide an easy way for students to do some extra spelling practice. Why? For some reason, we seem to enjoy word puzzles with search and finds! Maybe it's because solving the puzzle is so much fun that it doesn't seem like real work!  Here's a more difficult page with silent-letter words. Students must supply the missing letters in the word list, then find the word in the puzzle.

A Hard Word Search Puzzle!  What makes this so hard? First, there's no word list. Instead, students must look through the word puzzle, think about words they already know, and do a bit of guessing. Three important clues are supplied.

1) There are 25 words to find. 2) Each word is spelled with seven letters. 3) Each word begins with a different letter of the alphabet.  

If you're assigning it to students, I suggest that you try it first. That way, you'll know how to encourage your students. Plus you'll be able to supply a few hints along the way!
